Field Trip is a journey you take by car, bus, or even an
airplane. Once in a while the International club will make a
field trip somewhere around the Unite States to do fun
activities such as hiking, canoeing, ice-skating,
mountain-climbing, and picnicking.
These trips require at lease one
club advisor to go along and emergency contact information.
Sometimes, as a club member, you have to spend your
money out of your pocket first on the trip. There
will be reimbursements for your money back by the
International Club. The reimbursements is a long, painful
process. Be sure that you will not go broke before the next
field trip approaches.
These are places members of the International club have visited:
> Oregon
> Seattle
> Lost Lake
> San Francisco
Many trips were successful because of a thorough plan and
the cooperation of the weather.
Here are tips on planning a successful trip:
-
Inspect your vehicle to make sure it is in good
condition for a long drive.
-
Have emergency kits in the trunk of your car.
-
If you have a cell phone, buy a pocket power inverter
that you can plug into a cigarette jack of your car. It
can convert 12-V DC into 110-V AC, a power enough to
recharge your cell phone on the go.
-
Have cash in your hand. It is easier to spend cash because not every store
accepts Debit or
Credit cards.
-
Buy food close to where you live before you travel. If
you wait to buy food at the destination store, chances
are that the food over there is more expensive. If you
arrive at your destination at night and want to make
barbeque, you will have difficulty buying meat because
most stores may already be closed.
-
Bring a sleeping bag, flashlight, bottle of water, and appropriate
clothing. The weather at night is very chilly in the
Pacific Northwest .
-
Buy a map or print one from the internet. It is easier to have a
helpful resource available in your own hand when you
need it.
